World Food Day: A Celebration

Today is World Food Day. It is the day (October 16, 1945) the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations was founded. Every year people from around the world celebrate World Food Day and commit to the goal to eliminate hunger worldwide.

World Food Day is about farmers. Many farmers in poor countries find no benefit from the food they produce . We can help prevent this problem. On this World Food Day here are some things you can do online and offline.

  • Find and buy produce from a farmer in your local area.
  • Celebrate with your friends by having a dinner using local produce.
  • Like the World Food Day USA and Canada facebook page
