Obstacles help us adapt, grow stronger and build confidence.
Running or walking one mile can be an obstacle but when that obstacle is faced and you run or walk your first mile it is a great accomplishment; it is a reward. Mentally you have grown stronger and you now know you can run or walk one mile. Every time you repeat that accomplishment it becomes second nature. You will always know you can run or walk a mile.
Obstacles keep us alert, creative and can bring us much joy.
